Memorial evening of Mark Rybak
On the 6th of March, Mark Rybak has left his life after a serious prolonged illness. He did not live out just two days before his 73rd birthday. On the 15th of March a memorable evening was held in the Jewish Community of Estonia, commemorating this remarkable man, to whom the Community owes a great deal, primarily the creation of the Jewish Museum.
A lot has been said about the contribution of Mark to the life of our Community and to the creation of the Museum.
For the creation of the Jewish Museum Mark was awarded with the Order of the White Star by the President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves.
“A clever, energetic, charming, extremely witty and at the same time vulnerable and modest person has left us. He made an unusually much for the preservation of the memory of Estonian Jewry. We will miss Mark very much”.
