
The Jewish Сommunity of Estonia expresses sincere condolence in connection with the passing away of the famous scientist Isidor Levin.
Isidor Levin died in St. Petersburg on July 27 after a long illness.
This was was an extraordinary person, a man of incredible fate.
Being a student of the University of Tartu, in 1941 he was rescued from the Nazis by Professor Uku Masing and his wife Eha. Later these people received the title of “Righteous Among the World” at Yad Vashem Memorial Center (Israel).
Isidor Levin was the guest of honour at the opening of the Memory Gallery by invitation of the Jewish Community of Estonia. As part of this visit, he met with the members of the Community and shared his thoughts and views, which made it a very interesting, emotional and bright moment. Community newspaper Hashahar published a series of articles about this visit.
We will always remember Isidor Levin in his thoughts, judgments and life postulates.
